I discovered I have a lot to learn in value investing. Though I had been reading investment books, but there are many things I’m not sure.
I made a decision last night – sign up for the Millionaire Investor Program. Conducted by my two good friend, Ken and Clive, both who are successful value investor.
Just by the 2 hours seminar last night, I learned something new about investing. Imagine what I will learn from the two days program. I am looking forward to tap into the brains of these two friends.
Something interesting happened also. Right after signing up for the program, I made back one-fifth of the program fee. It was an ultimate blessing from the Universe, a real surprise for me, a happy one though.
Oh yes, I am going to that Millionaire Island.
You can never feel isolated when a group of your friends are supporting you in your growth. That’s how I felt in the past few days.
While Sean and me are preparing for our first public seminar in September, Ken gave some suggestion to our marketing plan. Those are valuable feedback from Ken, as he has been running his own seminar for years, his suggestion gave me a new insight.
Then there was Wendy, Clive, Sylvia, Denise, Jessica, Phyllis, Lori, and Florence who supported in my preview speaking. Their feedbacks were like diamond, precious and beautiful, allowing me to improve everyday.
They are friends who are willing to correct me when I made a mistake. They are always willing to ask more of me. Though sometimes it’s tough to listen to those feedbacks, I have to get my ego out of the way so that I can correct and improve.
Having them in this area of my life to support in my growth is a huge blessing for me. I thank each and everyone one of them for being there for me.
Regaining my composure and confidence after last night seminar. If you have been reading my blog, you will know that I screwed up once, and my confidence went spiral down. It took me two days to recover. But that screwed up had shaken me a bit.
After last night, I’m am back to my old self, knowing that I can perform well. I felt really happy with my performance last night.
I thought it’s celebration time, went to tailored a new suit for myself.
Another reason for celebration is I have found another company that can be invested. The figures looks good for now. I have yet research about their business model, and the next few days I will be doing so. I have learned that being patience is one of the virtue in investing. There’s no hurry to jump into any companies.
It’s a joyous feeling when I find good companies to invest. Because it takes time to dig out those good companies that are under value. These are the companies that I am interested.
Last night the Master, Jerome Tan said, now it’s the time to conserve. The rich is now waiting for the big plunge where all the opportunities will present themselves.
So I am conserving my cash, watching closely on those companies that may be a good buy. Waiting, waiting, waiting…
Amazingly exciting week! Lots of things to be done this week, but I like it. It gets my adrenalin flowing, and I simply love that feeling.
What kept my adrenalin flowing?
Beside the usual of preparing proposals, I will be helping one of my clients to prepare for an entrepreneur competition. This is an added service I do, which is why the clients are with us for three years.
I will also be speaking in another workshop this week. That makes me extremely excited. This is a different exposure for me, allowing me to experience another perspective of training.
This is the really exciting one. I am working on two public seminars. Yes! Finally I made the decision. There is a lot of preparation work, but those are not as tough as filling up the seats. But I know I have to go ahead and do it.
On top of that, I have to study companies, to identify which company to invest in. Stock prices have been dropping with all the bad news surrounding the US banks. Now got to prepare for the buying.
Got to go…need to get things done.
I learned a huge lesson from Joe Girard’s How To Sell Anything To Anybody. I’m only about one-third through the book and I learned one important lesson in cold calling.
Cold calling is one of the lowest success rate in all methods of sales. From the book, I learned to turn the low success rate to my advantage.
Many a time, we try too hard to close over the phone, especially cold calling. You probably received calls from membership clubs trying to sell you a membership to a club or a chain of hotels. The person on that line go babbling their way.
Joe Girard’s cold calling is different. He only takes two minutes for each call. And he doesn’t do any closing on the first call. He collect information of the customers. Information that will help him close this customer on his next call.
Cold calling is a system from making your first call to closing the sale. Joe Girard has a system for taking down information, the questions to ask, follow up call etc.
No wonder he is the greatest car salesman.
I’m in dejavu. From yesterday on, a superb feeling came from inside. I do not know why, and I just let myself enjoy that feeling.
Few things could have contributed to that. In business wise, there are some trainings coming in. There are also new opportunities to explore. And also we are planning to expand in our training business. All these new exploration got me all excited.
Another reason could be having a night movie outing with Jean. It had been a long time since we hd gone for a movie. We chose Hancock which I thought it’s a funny show. Not a bad show to just relax my mind.
It could also be the good friends that I have around me. Many of them really cared and supported me in my journey. I am thankful for having these friends.
As I am writing this right now, I actually had a smile put on. I’m really feeling great….
Few weeks back, I had a great learning experience. It affected me badly. It threw me off balance. It created waves into my peaceful life.
I kept looking at the incident, kept asking myself what is the lesson. It took me a while to figure out the truth. I learned a great lesson and a great truth.
I know deep down that after this incident, I’ve grown in a big way, I’ve went one big step ahead. Now I understand why the Universe plan it in this way. I understand why I screwed up.
So that I can become better, so that I can be more inspiring, so that I will be more powerful. Thank you for that learning experience.
And also thank you for giving me more opportunities. There is another training coming up for 120 people. I’m started to feel excited again.
